honest to glob

My Diablo Cody parody was spread around the Internet more than anything I've ever written for Something Awful (I think), so that's pretty cool. And it's getting new life now that Cody has won an Oscar for her writing, as seen in this AP article pointed out by [info]the__seeker. It's mostly a dry piece about the backlash Cody is facing for Juno, but the best bit comes when critic Robert Wilonsky white knights for the fair screenwriter.

Movie critic Robert Wilonsky of the Dallas Observer thinks potshots against Cody are rooted in jealousy.

“She deserves what she has coming to her,” Wilonsky said. “This is not accidental and it’s not undeserved. Anyone who says otherwise is just a would-be screenwriter with a movie script sitting in their desk that nobody has any interest in.”

It's pretty amazing that a critic would actually hold that opinion.

Oh, and this video from Superdeluxe does an awesome job at parodying Cody:

Robert Wilonsky is wasting his time as a movie critic when there are so many hack webcomics to defend with the same argument.

Errrr, that jelly in the belly line wasn't actually in the movie, was it...?

The Bride of BobServoStein (or Monster's Gall)

"How does it feel to have created a monster?" Well, there's this mix of pride and shame that's similar to the pride and shame parents have for their kids...or at least me, when I created this 12-part opus on YouTube called "Snow White Remix". Here's the link to the first part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5loXlImqBPI (if you're interested in the rest, just click on "More From FirstClassHeel")

I read "she deserves what she has coming to her" as "she deserves all of the condemnation that she receives".

Juno was a good movie; don't let your dislike of a loud crazy bitch get in the way of the end product.

Seriously though, Diablo Cody looks like she just stepped off the set of Ghost World. And not in a good Scarlett Johansson way.
